The traditional Native American way of living sees the world as a sacred place, a place where everything has meaning and is connected to a higher purpose. Traditionally, many Native Americans perform ceremonies which help attract certain energies or situations to them. For example the smudging ceremony (brushing sage smoke over yourself) is used to cleanse the aura in a comparative way to incense, and feathers are used to hold while praying, in much the same way as Christians put their hands together.
The Native American uses incense in prayer and in all aspects of daily life. In the NorthWest sweetgrass and kinickkinnick are used, whilst the Pueblo Indians use pine needles and cedar. The Hopi use juniper tops and the plains Indians use cedar tops and sage to purify and to make offerings. Cotton thread is used to wrap smudge sticks.
All these products are handmade in New Mexico and only the purest ingredients are used. In addition to smudge sticks we stock a range of Medicine Wheel Essential oils, Totem Power Animal Stones, Books and Tradition Native American Music.
